BEDMINSTER NJ - September 21 2021
Over 200 golfers, including 55 wounded veterans, enjoyed a beautiful, sunny day of golf at one of the nation's top courses, Trump National Golf Club, Bedminster, on Monday, September 12, 2021, for the 6th Annual Move United Warfighters Charity Challenge. $500,000 was raised to support the recovery and rehabilitation of some of our nation's most severely wounded veterans through adaptive sports. This year was a record-setter for the event in the number of sponsors, players, and funds raised.

"What began as a small idea several years ago has grown into an event that continues to amaze and humble me," said one of the event founders, Gary Giulietti, a President and Partner in the Northeast Series of Lockton Companies. He went on to say, "These individuals continually want to thank us for a great day where we host some of our nation's bravest heroes. I always tell them that this is just a small token of our appreciation for what they do for us, sacrificing their lives on the front lines of freedom so we can enjoy our way of life as Americans. There is no need to thank us; it is us that should be thanking them."

Through the generous sponsorships of companies like Lockton Companies, DADA Holdings, Cigna, Halmar International, and more than 50 other donors and sponsors, not only are the tournament participants treated to a luxurious day of food, drinks, friends, and golf, of course, but through contests on the green, raffles, and a live and silent auction, funds are raised for Move United Warfighters.

"The ability to fund raise over $500K to support my fellow warriors in events of learning how to play golf, a week of learning to snowboard/ski, diving below the waves in scuba gear, to so many of the varying 70 plus sports offered through the Chapters across the US is a moving testament! I have truly benefited from learning to play golf, alpine skiing, scuba diving and getting back to centering myself with Move United Warfighters. Those generous fundraising dollars have helped contributed personally to becoming a Scuba instructor and Alpine Ski instructor who specializes in folks with disabilities. This has allowed me to recenter myself, be a better father, husband, and a contributing member of society that even though this event was honoring my service and thanking me; I am the one saying, Thank You!" said Captain (Ret.) Matthew Staton.

Since 2016, Lockton Companies has partnered with Move United Warfighters to raise over $1 million for injured warfighters participating in the Move United Warfighters program. Event participants also benefit from hearing about the lives and experiences of the warfighters.

"It was a rewarding and moving experience to spend quality time listening to injured veterans' stories and to raise funds in support of the recovery of our nation's heroes. We are proud to contribute to this remarkable organization, which helps wounded veterans recover through sports rehabilitation, empowering them to participate in activities they never thought they would be able to do again, said Tim Ryan, COO of Lockton Northeast.

With hundreds of internal and external partners, from member organizations, to hospitals, to disability organizations and sports organizations, Move United is leading a movement so that no one is left on the sidelines and everyone gets in the game.

"When Move United challenges people and organizations to Join the Movement, we seek allies both with and without disabilities. We are so appreciative of the partnership with our allies at Lockton Companies, who support Move United Warfighters as the presenting sponsor of the 6th Annual Move United Charity Challenge. This year's event raised an astonishing $500,000, impacting thousands of the most severely wounded and injured warfighter lives for the better," said Glenn Merry, Executive Director at Move United.

A huge thank you goes out to all the sponsors, volunteers, and wounded warfighters who continue to make this event a success. Next year's Move United Warfighters Charity Challenge will be held on Monday, September 12, 2022.
