Colter Kautzmann looked cool calm and collected all day as he strolled around the Old White at @The_Greenbrier during the final day of the 2019 @VGAGolf Championships. After starting with a bogey on the first hole he was able to make par on the next 6 holes then finish birdie birdie on 8 and 9 for a -1 front 9. He kept his cool on the back and shot a safe 2 over to finish 3 strokes ahead of Brian Blalock.
Laurel Gill also put together a very solid round to finish 4 strokes ahead of Baskette for the Ladies Division. @The_Greenbrier provided a championship test for all with 2 stellar courses.
The Champions took home the VGA Championship trophies along with a laundry list of unbelievable prizes and experiences. Both will recieve:
An Invitation to participate in the 2020 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Monday Pro-Am, thanks to AT&T.
An Invitation to participate in the Jordan Spieth Foundation’s Concert Fundraiser at Topgolf in Dallas on Nov. 21st, featuring Jake Owen.
A custom set of golf shoes from Nomad Customs.
A custom set of golf clubs from Srixon.
A custom VGA putter from Bettinardi Golf.
The coveted Red Jacket.
As if that weren't enough Governor Jim Justice announced at the ceremonial dinner he would be awarding Colter Kautzmann with sponsor’s exemption to compete in the PGA TOUR’s 2020 A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier.

As the @VGAGolf community grows the competition increases and the tournaments expand. The VGA staff does an incredible job running a tournament and transforming the host venue into its own. The common theme for the week has been community. The VGA has done an incredible job creating and strengthening a family bond for these participants. When describing the VGA many members use the word "need" while talking about what has been created. When deployed overseas they have and rely on each other. They work together, live together, and eat together. Sometimes when returning home they lose that communal feel that is a natural safe feeling. From the outside the VGA may appear to be a golf league but it really is so much more for these members and their families.
"The growth I have seen in the four years I have been involved is amazing. I have met so many good people and great friends through the VGA and that is what it's really about. We just happen to play some golf too!" - Adam Napier
Until attending an event you really can't fully grasp what the VGA is all about. Consider looking into the community at www.vgagolf.org and see how you can get involved!
